Grade Level: High School
Career Explorations is a class that has a direct impact upon helping youth explore options for their future. Helping students prepare for the employment world, this class guides students in discovering their passions and interests, how God uniquely created them, and then correlates those to possible career paths. Career Explorations helps students face life after high school by being better prepared, knowing who they are, and understanding what career areas they would like to explore. Each person’s God designed abilities are unique and created for equally unique purposes.
This class will help students discover how the talents, interests, strengths, and skills God has given them can be combined into career options and then explore those options. Students will also research colleges and other educational options related to their career interests. Students will learn about workplace expectations, create resumes, participate in mock job interviews, create a budget, and much more. The final class project will be compiling a ‘Map for the Future” resource notebook.
