In Spanish class we did papel picado, a classic Mexican craft for Dia del Amor y Amistad (Valentine’s Day.) Papel picado is similar to making snowflakes in that you fold paper (in this case, tissue paper), and cut out different shapes. It is usually square in shape and strung together and hung as decoration for all sorts of festivities. If you want to see it in person, swing by our Spanish classroom and check it out!
