We’ve recently observed some drivers in the Laurel Church parking lot in the morning whose behavior has alarmed us. If your older children drive themselves or siblings to class, please also take a moment to talk to them about the importance of slowing down when they enter the church parking lot. There are people of all ages, from very young to elderly that pass through the area at any given time, and we need to be cautious and respectful to everyone.
In short, if we observe a driver operating their vehicle in a dangerous manner, we will call 911 immediately.
From our Policies & Procedures:
Student drivers must obey all restrictions on their driver’s license. We will NOT check with parents first if there is a clear violation. These will be reported to 911. Students may NOT hang out in vehicles during study hall or lunch, as these are unsupervised areas.
